I last used an ICD-9 book over 15 years ago and this edition is better than I remembered. This one has great illustrations in the front and helpful information and pictures alongside some of the codes. It reduces the need to go looking in a medical dictionary.

This is 2012 already and we're still carrying around these heavy books that rip our bags 3 times a year. I've been using eBooks for ICD-9-CM and HCPCS coding for 5 months and can truly say that these old books are relics of the past. The future -
2013 Super ICD-9-CM Volumes 1 & 2 (Diseases and Injuries) .. 2013 available NOW, not paying $100 to pre-order a book that will arrive in months. You can put the eBook on your iPhone or Android phone PLUS your PC and your Tablet and have it anywhere you go.
This also doesn't begin to get into all the advantages. I know I must code 3x as fast with the eBook because I'm not flipping pages, I don't even have to 'search'.. just a few drill down alphabetic 'touches' and I can get to most diseases in about 3 seconds. Flipping to the tabular is automatic too.
