The Computer Security Handbook, 5th Edition Set by Seymour Bosworth, M. E. Kabay, and Eric Whyne is a must read reference! Students, practitioners, and researchers in the field of computer and network security will greatly benefit from this Handbook. Its 76 comprehensive chapters nearly cover all aspects of security issues and measures. Written by leading experts both academic as well as practitioners is an indispensable resource. The fifth edition builds on its earlier editions and also introduces current topics in the field of computer and network security. Part IV, Prevention (Human Factors) is particularly very interesting. The Handbook is highly recommended!
By Hossein Bidgoli
This handbook is comprised of a series of contributions from various authors in the field. The content provides information that is supported by experts in the field. The 'handbook' factor is evident in that, while some of the book primarily provides knowledge in various cybersecurity areas, many of the contributions provide guidance on developing cybersecurity policy, awareness, mechanisms for information assurance, processes for developing guidelines, and cybersecurity management. I don't think it should be considered a comprehensive resource that addresses all cybersecurity issues, though it appears to address many, but would prove to be a good resource, and supplement the cybersecurity practitioner's and academic's library.
