Free The Little SAS Book: A Primer, Fourth Edition
I support a fairly large SAS community in the private sector. I always recommend this book, but it isn't for everyone. I always recommend the most current version too. Maybe those reviewing this text at such a low level expected more detailed coverage. If you are a documentation junkie with considerable IT background, then go to the SAS site and read the documentation or purchase the course notes. The Little SAS Book is a series of short articles that hit all topics for a new SAS user. Many new SAS users have limited computing skills, e.g., Word and Excel, and our plunging into advanced statistics courses. The book is written in a folksy kind of style which might turn off some readers. If you have strong IT skills and now supporting statisticians that know SAS, then this book will aid in the conversation.

This book is amazingly useful for SAS beginners and professional alike. It gives you an easy understanding of programming in SAS. I will definately recommend this book as a first choice to anyone interested in SAS.
