While the question formats are everything but NCLEX, I found the content review challenging (beyond the basic Q & A or vocab style of workbooks from simpler subjects). Dense... a lot to review even when only 5 pages per chapter in some cases. I could quickly see areas I needed to reread before the test. The questions seemed to mirror very much the topics chosen for my actual tests. Highly recommend. There are plenty of NCLEX study guides out there. I don't feel the lack of NCLEX practice is a negative to the workbook. I liked being able to focus on gaps in my content knowledge rather than play the game of "what is the NCLEX question really asking (or tricking) me". NCLEX prep tends to make me feel like I have to prove how well I take tests, not demonstrate what I actually know and have studied. The Med-Surg text is intense and detailed technical reading. It often requires two or more reads to get it straight and retain the bulk of it- and since there's rarely time for that, the workbook makes better use of your time by focusing on your weak spots, without being too simple or drill-like.
