Don’t make the same mistake I did with buying this book. I have read many books in my time and this book is by far the worst book I’ve ever read. Each chapter is written by different authors who have no idea how to target their reader. Each author has their own style of writing which means complete inconsistency as to the style of writing for every chapter.
The book is just full of random information acquired from elsewhere and compiled into a so-called guide.
You can see redundant content and content that contradict each other from one chapter to another.
One author is obviously sexist. The author refers to a subject as “he” throughout his chapter. The publisher either didn’t notice this or is also sexist.
Another author states that a way to “securely” erase a hard drive is to ‘re-format’. If you know anything about computers, you know that’s 100% incorrect.
Even the questions on the end of each chapter is inconsistent. You will find multiple answer choices in one chapter with 4 choices, another with 3 and sometimes with 5.
In the answer key at the back of the book, they have two chapters in the wrong order. Again, the publisher couldn’t notice that.
Once question asked what country a certain malicious code writer was from. These types of questions have nothing to do with information security. It’s like asking what color an HP server is.
Information and technology that were deemed obsolete in chapters were tested at the end of the same chapters and this occurred in multiple chapters.
On several pages, the actual printing of the book was misaligned.
