I ordered this book to get some new ideas for my biology and chemistry classes. After receiving it I found that most of the activities are geared toward the life sciences. The book is split into three units: physical science, life science, and earth science. Each unit has several sections about a particular subject (16 sections total for the book) with about 10-12 lessons per section.
Most of the activities are short and would make a good warm-up, or demonstration. Some of the activities are kind of silly (like cutting up paper to try to cut it to the size of an atom).
Overall this book is fairly useful for me since I teach two subjects, however, I can see how others wouldn't find this book as helpful.

Since 180 days is roughly the length of the school year, I was hoping against experience that this book would help me come up with some activities or at least demonstrations that I could use daily within my tiny supply budget. Alas, experience triumphs over hope again.
This book does contain many activities that are reasonably easy to set up and not unreasonably costly, but still far more than the forty cents per class section (about a penny and a half per kiddo) per day I have available. Individually, the activities are pretty cheap, but mostly they don't lend themselves to quick tear-down and repetition, which is absolutely vital if you teach 6 sections per day.
Good ideas, just not good ideas that can be done for pennies per day.
The blurb says grades 5-10 and I agree with that. Many of the activities are just too advanced. Still, I'm hoping to incorporate 20 or 30 activities that will work within my curriculum and budget.
