I am working on my masters degree in nursing, and this was one of our required books. I have not been impressed. I was a manger of an emergency department for years, and have a very strong background in finance, and if I had had to initially learn from this book I would have been lost. The authors do not give specifics of how to do budgets. Seems like there must be much better books out there, in fact I would look at nurse manager books. I have seen descriptions of budgets in nurse management books that were 10 times better than this book. And it is boring.

Not much illustration and not much examples either. It is a good supplement of another bigger and more detailed text book. I only bought it because it was a requirement for my course
