Free Adobe Flash Professional CC Classroom in a Book )
We were critical of the previous edition of "Adobe Flash Professional CS6 Classroom in a Book" (CIB) for not being on top of where Flash Pro usage was going in today's environment. It seemed like a tired revisit to previous editions of the same book.
The people at Adobe Press must be listening. We are pleased to give this CC edition room on our reference shelf.
Some things, which were popular new directions during CS5, are no longer included in this Flash Pro CC (Creative Cloud) CIB edition, such as the chapter on working with text. However, to mourn its loss would be disingenuous of our point that technology moves forward and so must educational materials. We can see where text was important when Flash Pro (Fl) was another resource for creating web pages. That's no longer the key direction of Fl. So, we applaud the author, Russell Chun, and the people at Adobe Press for revising this important work to reflect current Fl trends for new and existing Flash creatives.
This not only makes room for new and important chapters, it keeps the reader focused on what's important in understanding the complete Fl experience as it is relative to current user needs.
The important point is that Flash Pro is alive and well and Adobe has some big new plans for it which we are just being seen in Fl CC. This direction is manifested in the freshly revealed user interface (UI) which matches that of other CC apps such as Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop. The entire app has been rewritten and looks and feels refreshed enough to merit revisiting everything about Fl.
If you are used to previous CIB volumes, for any Adobe app, you're expecting to find that familiar DVD in the rigid envelope in the back of the book.
