Free Javascript for Beginners
I've dabbled with HTML and CSS but never messed with Javascript much until recently. There's a lot of info out there on the topic, but most of it is thrown together haphazardly with no real emphasis on the theory, just monkey-see monkey-do. This book takes you through a logical approach to programming. I personally found it very informative and easy to follow. By the end I felt like I had a solid base to start learning some more javascript. It wont replace a go-to manual for javascript, but is a solid intro, definitely recommended.
