I had to borrow a friend's hardcopy to write this review.
This is a very good book for beginners to learn C#, but there two major drawbacks with the kindle edition:
1) It doesn't come with a CD, which is semi-forgivable, considering it's an electronic medium; however, a download of an ISO image(s) should be made available for those who buy this version.
2) The kindle edition has layer upon layer of DRM, which makes it nearly impossible to read at times, even with proof of ownership; I actually returned my copy for this reason. If you need a copy of this book an e-book format, I highly recommend (legally, of course) buying a DRM-free copy, or at least one with less DRM attached.

The worst thing about this book is the course testing materials for the book, which are rife with bugs, ambiguities, and flat out incorrect assertions which are in direct opposition to the text in the book itself. This seems to be the case for all Gaddis' books. It would suggest someone is providing kickbacks to whomever it is selects books for use in college.
Out of about 8 exams in two different courses, one using this book, and one using the c++ variant, I never had a single test that did not have at least one, usually two, out of 20-30 questions, with a major bug, mis-statement, or ambiguity in it. I verified this by finding the controverting element of the text in the book itself afterwards, or, alternately, actually inserting the code into VS and testing if it did what it said.
Even if that were not the case, "New", the book retails for more than 2x what most "New" computer books retail for, and we ALL know those are vastly overpriced.
